Meet Dr. Hibbard

I believe developing strong relationships and a deeper understanding of yourself is integral to healing.  I take a collaborative approach to therapy  and  will work with you to find your strengths.  I have over 10 years of experience utilizing cognitive, subjective, and academic assessment and evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive behavioral, EMDR,  collaborative problem solving, and acceptance and commitment therapy to assist clients in reaching treatment goals.   I have worked with a variety of age ranges and diagnoses, including bipolar and related disorders, depression, anxiety, autism, and trauma.  I co-authored a case study assessing effective treatment modalities for the treatment of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder.  Additionally, I wrote a workbook and I conduct workshops for parents and caregivers called the Language of Advocacy teaching how parents can speak up for their children with mental health concerns.  I am  on the board of Helping the Behaviorally Challenging Child (HBCC) and facilitate a support group for parents and caregivers of individuals with severe mental illness through NAMI Orange County Chapter.

I received my master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University and Azusa Pacific University. I trained in Youth Intensive Outpatient programs and University of California at Irvine Medical Center Child and Adolescent Outpatient Program; an APA-accredited internship at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, Psychiatry Department; and my post-doctoral fellowship with Healthpointe Medical Clinics.
